Eighteen months in oak barrels and a gold medal from Bordeaux. One sip is enough to evoke the aroma of forest berries and juicy fruits. This Grand Cru from Saint-Émilion carries the character, elegance and a pinch of French self-confidence in every glass.
The vine roots have been growing through the soil rich in limestone and iron for 45 years. A subtle earthiness has been imprinted into each berry of the 100% Merlot which is noticeable at the very first intake of the aroma. The taste is complemented by a pleasantly built medium body. Firm, yet light.
And the acidity? Yes, it’s there, exactly where it should be. Thanks to it the wine is lively, playful and spicy. Will you feel the need to have another sip? You bet! Immediately.
Do you take pleasure in lifting the glass against the light and enjoying the color? If so, get ready. Its deep garnet color with flashes of ruby will enchant you even before you get to taste the wine for the first time.
Grapes picked by hand. A careful selection followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and aging in barrels (one third is new). All of this left an undeniable imprint up to the very last sip.
There are still a few good years ahead for the Tour Grand Faurie 2008. However, if you like, you can enjoy it today.
