The Via Tempia Story

It’s been a few years since Jan Pánek, the Via Tempia Sommelier and Founder, left his home land for Italy in search for a job and experience. It wasn’t wine that was his calling at the time but it didn’t take him long to fall head over heels for the winemaking world. He set off on the road to learn about wine, encountered his first experience in wine making, he learned the art of degustation. He began his journey of selling wine short after. 

“As soon as I started selling wine the world of archival wines spoke very strongly to me. I was once faced with the difficult task to find a gift for my friend’s 40th birthday and that’s when I thought: I’ll give him a bottle of wine that’s the same age as him! He was delighted! I realised that plenty of people are faced with the same problem: What do you give to someone on a special occasion? What do you give to someone who already has everything? So I launched this web and started to focus primarily on archival wines.”

Our specialised e-shop with archival wines vinozarchivu.cz was set up in 2016. We’ve come a long way since then. We’ve distributed to customers all around the world. This was, among other things, the reason to change our name to Via Tempia in 2022. Our name has changed but our love for exceptional archival wines has remained. 

Today we stock more than 2000 bottles many of which are truly rare and unique. One of a kind.
