2000 Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Chateau Tour Grand Faurie
When the harvest was in full swing in Tour Grand Faurie in the year 2000 the prediction was that this year was going to be special. While the rest of the world waited with bated breath if Nostradamus was right, here in the picturesque corner of France they kept busy. They were turning grapes into extraordinary wine using love, patience, and the skill of their hands. Exactly as tradition dictates. The wine then rested in oak barrels for the whole 18 months.
The result? Intense garnet color with brick reflections. Your nose will be tickled by tertiary aroma. There’s canned fruit, plums and the touch of animal tones and leather. A scent that doesn’t pretend to be young. It proudly shows its age. Beautifully rounded in taste with soft, almost plush tannins.
The world didn’t end in 2000. But the winemakers’ premonition of excellent vintage came true. Only 22 000 bottles of it.
Pour the taste of history from the turn of the millenium into your glass.
