2009 Riesling Bamberger
The grapes used for the dry wine Riesling 2009 were grown on one of three steep slopes managed by the Bamberger family on Meddersheimer Altenberg. This slope is famous for its unique sandstone, siliceous, and shale subsoil. The unique landscape is reflected in the wines’ terroir and lends them a distinctive character with fresh minerality.
This wine was made for archiving. With age, it will take on unique tertiary flavors and aromas that can’t be predicted in advance. Try it in combination with poultry or pork dishes, or with spicy foods.
The Bamberger family winery is located in the German village of Meddersheim, near the river Nahe.
