It’s been resting in the bottle for a few good years. And still it has plenty of energy left to give.
This 100% Merlot was born in 2010 in vineyards that are older than 45 years. Yes, these grapevines remember times without the internet and smartphones. Their roots go very very deep indeed into the limestone-clay soil saturated with iron. The grapes have a unique character thanks to this. Such a character that one doesn’t find in young vineyards.
The grapes are harvested by hand and then carefully sorted with the classic French approach where each detail matters. Then comes the fermentation in tanks and 18 months in French oak barrels. There’s no “let’s see what happens” here, it’s a safe bet!
And how about the taste? Charming, tempting and round with velvety tannins and a long smooth aftertaste. It’s all about dark colors with the flash of brick. The aroma is of macerated fruit with elegant vanilla. It’s a fairytale in the mouth.
This wine has been around for some time already but still has plenty of strength to rest a few more years in your home archives.
