The legacy of slow production
From the cherry red color to the scent of American oak.
Everything about this exceptional archival wine betrays its very slow, traditional production. The Urbina family isn’t in a hurry for their wine; they use traditional methods and give it the time it needs.
In the beginning are the traditional Tempranillo variety grapes. The winemakers let them macerate for 28 days, and then the wine rests for 12 months in an oak barrel. More years of aging give the wine depth and maturity. And now we can present it to you in its full glory.
Archival wine with the aroma of long-gone memories
The scent and taste of Urbina Crianza 2015 will carry you back to carefree times.
Imagine how your nose is tickled for the first time by the aroma of oak, vanilla, and white pepper. This is what Grandmother’s kitchen smelled like before she started baking. It’s followed by cherries, milky tones, and musk. The familiar, pleasant aromas of thyme, dill, and refreshing orange peel round it out.
Do you feel like drinking yet? Please. Warm notes of black currant spill over your tongue. A touch of spice: fennel, thyme, and dill. Refreshing acidity. And a pleasantly long finish.
Where will this wine take you? Find out. Only a fraction of the 2015 vintage still remains.

„The 2015 Urbina Rioja shows classic notes of red fruit, leather, and a touch of spice, but it didn’t quite come together for us when enjoyed on its own. The structure felt a bit sharp and the acidity outpaced the fruit, which made it less easy to sip casually. There’s a rustic edge and a slight funk that suggests this bottle really wants food to complete the picture. With roasted vegetables, or manchego, the wine’s savory qualities could shine and feel more integrated. As a stand-alone glass, however, it struggled to find balance and wasn’t as enjoyable. “
