First you’ll encounter the scent of green apple, lime and juicy peach along with soft herbs. The main role on the stage of taste is played by a perfectly refined acidity, followed by a full texture and the finish that just lingers on and on.
Do you remember what the weather was like in 2021? It wasn’t so hot. When there is less sun the grapes ripen more slowly. And when they ripen more slowly, they tend to keep their pleasant acidity. Also their freshness and the soft and slightly salty mineral tone. This Riesling made the most of the 2021 vintage.
The home of this beautiful wine is the Georg Müller Stiftung winery.
Here the soil is tended without the use of herbicides and artificial fertilizers. They harvest by hand and would rather accept lower yields than compromise on quality. And when you add the top-tier Hattenheimer Schützenhaus vineyard – bearing the VDP.ERSTE LAGE designation (the German equivalent of the French Premier Cru) – you instantly have an ideal candidate for your home cellar.
