Médoc is an elegant, full wine that smells of currants and red fruit, and its flavor lingers long on the tongue. With him as your guide you’ll recognize yourselves how the full wines from Bordeaux transform over 4 years.
All 4 vintages are produced at the sustainable winery Château Saint-Hilaire. The local winemakers pick their grapes by hand, macerate them for 3 weeks, and then let them mature for 12 months in oak barrels. This is naturally part of the reason why they collect awards at prestigious competitions.
Set out on a journey from the youngest, light 2020 vintage to the rich archival Médoc 2017. We’ll guide you.

Château Saint Hilaire Médoc 2017 Cru Bourgeois: Archival dry red wine
If we were going to create a perfect dry red wine, we’d do it like this:
We’d hand-pick grapes of the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties in sunny Bordeaux. We’d let them macerate for 3 weeks, and then mature for 12 months in barrique casks. Finally, we would blend the two varieties together to create a ruby-red dry wine.
This is exactly how the rich and elegant Médoc 2017 was created. It smells of plums, black fruit, and currants. It will enchant you with its full taste and tannins that remain for a long time in your mouth.
This archival red wine earned a gold medal at the largest French competition, the Challenge International du Vin.

This is the taste of a wine that was created between the Atlantic and the deep French forests. The winemakers from the Château Saint-Hilaire winery hand-pick their grapes and continuously taste them. They leave them to macerate for 3 weeks and then the wine matures for 12 months in oak barrels.
Finally, they blend a balanced ratio of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. These varieties lend the wine the harmonious taste that’s typical for Bordeaux and Médoc.
