2016 Riesling Weingut Hirtl

It ripened on the southwest slopes of Rösselberg near the little town of Paysdorf where the roots were planted in the rich sandy-loam soil. It managed to ripen to perfection. Patiently and with respect for traditions. Maybe that’s the reason why it’s so nicely matured and balanced in taste. Grown-up indeed. This Austrian gem simply isn’t playing any games.
Twelve months of maturation on fine lees in stainless steel tanks gave this wine its elegance, depth and the much appreciated delicate acidity.
Are you already craving it and wondering what to pair it with?
The perfect match for the Riesling Résselberg 2016 is Asian cuisine, foie gras, duck or perhaps smoked salmon. Don’t be afraid to serve it with food that has a light sweetness to it. It will also accompany lightly spiced dishes nicely. It will add softness to them beautifully.
We recommend opening the bottle in advance and letting it breathe a little. The ideal serving temperature is around 52°F.
