Imagine the deepest darkest shade of ruby color and the sweetest smell of dark fruits. The taste of ripe blackberries and blackcurrant. It’s concentrated. It’s self confident and full. But most of all it has a very promising future ahead.
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape is extraordinary. The lead role here is played by a lesser known variety of Mourvèdre (85 %) which was once called Tinot. This vine loves the sun, the time and patience. Its more than 70 year-old roots grow deep into the soil. The typical pebbles covering the surface of the soil store the heat throughout the day and release it back during the night.
Cuvée Tintot isn’t produced every year. The winemakers wait patiently for Mother Nature to deal the perfect hand of cards. Even then, only a limited amount is made. Each bottle is a celebration of the best that Mas de Boislauzon can produce.
It’s simply the perfect Nature’s concert that’s bottled up by the winemakers of Mas de Boislauzon. The grapes are hand-harvested, carefully sorted, allowed to ferment naturally, and patiently aged in both tanks and barrels.
The result is a wine that has both the strength of the South Rhône and an amazing elegance.
Try it. You can enjoy it straight away or let it rest in your home archives for a while. Remember? It’s patient and time is a friend here.
