And then comes the texture. It’s full, rich and almost creamy. It is precisely this that transforms an otherwise pleasant Riesling into something far more interesting. And just when you think there are no further surprises ahead, notes of lemon zest, white pepper, and a subtle spiciness emerge.
The wine comes from the Georg Müller Stiftung winery. Since 2003, it has been led by Peter Winter. Following extensive investment, a new era has commenced blending tradition with a modern approach. No herbicides. No mineral fertilizers. Here, the soil is tended to with genuine care, and the majority of the healthy, perfectly ripe grapes are harvested by hand.
The result, you ask? It’s a Riesling with an extraordinary character and a great aging potential. It’s great to drink right away but if you like you can let it rest for a few more years in your home archives.
