“Oh, I like this! What is it?” That’s the character of this Saint Emilion. Such wine where you stumble for the words but you know, after the first sip, that you like it.
The color alone is enough to reveal that you’re onto something quite special here. It’s deep ruby with flashes of purple. It’s sparkly, elegant and light.
Right after the top of your mouth has been tickled by a soft French aroma you’ll discover dark fruits, plums, cherries, blackberries. Just lightly enough. It’s a pleasant fruityness, beautifully layered. It develops nicely and is in no rush. It wants to stay. And, at the end, there’s a soft spicy line to follow adding a spark to it all.
This wine comes from vineyards with the perfect exposure and the ideal soil. This combination is the key to its natural elegance and freshness. So typical for Bordeaux.
This cuvée is a surprisingly pleasant and harmonious concert of taste consisting of 85 % Merlot and 15 % Cabernet Franc. While the Merlot stands firm behind the medium body and beautiful, velvety smooth texture, the Cabernet Franc added a finer structure, light spiciness, airiness, and the impression that this wine simply has “something extra.”
Perhaps that’s what makes it so unexpectedly delicate. Find out for yourself. The carefully picked grapes rested in oak barrels for 18 months.
And the result? A wine round in taste with firm contours and the promise to please your tastebuds right now, or rest some more in your home archives.
