Barolo from the Bric Cenciurio winery: Prestigious wine from two brothers-in-law

Imagine setting off for a sunny trip to Italy. Just before Genoa, you happen upon the village of Barolo and find the Bric Cenciurio winery hidden among the hills there.

The winery was founded by two brothers-in-law who still harvest the grapes by hand with respect for nature. They use methods that have been passed down from generation to generation in Italy.

This gave rise to Barolo, one of the most prestigious wines in the world with an excellent potential for maturing.

Vintage Barolo 2015 has matured for an exceptionally long time

Do you know what the word “Riserva” means in the name of this dry red wine? It’s a label for wines that have matured longer than others.

Barolo 2015 from the traditional Nebbiolo variety is first macerated for 35 to 40 days. Then it matured for two years in an oak barrel, 6 months in a stainless steel tank and 3 years in the bottle before it even made its way out of the family winery.

Over the years that it matured, tones of blackberries, hazelnuts and licorice have intertwined in its flavor. The tannins have become silky smooth and connected with the acidity. The wine’s aroma tells of spice, plums and soil.

It’s no surprise that Italians are in love with Barolo. It’s enchanted experts around the world as well. Well-known Wine Enthusiast magazine gives it 92 out of 100 points.

It goes wonderfully with grilled red meat. Indulge yourself.
